I called Gould Well Drilling, in Lyndonville, Vermont July of 2018 to get an idea of the cost of a well. Jen Gould, the General Manager, spoke with me about the process and emailed me an estimate and several recent pictures of the process. She was super friendly and had just finished a personal building project in 2010, so she could relate to the excitement and stress. The company cover letter that accompanies the project estimate is very detailed. The company does a great job explaining not only the process, but what other costs could be incurred. It is very thorough. I called back Gould Well Drilling, Thursday, 10/24 and requested an updated estimate with the understanding that prices went up on 2019. They still had all of my information on file, advised me on the process of securing a contract and making a deposit so we could be ready to go in 2020. The new estimate should be ready this week. I also asked them to include a quote for a freeze protection design, due to the potential for below freezing weather in that area.
The next step is to get an updated estimate from our excavator, George Wagner, for a containment pit, site preparation and excavation of a trench to the cabin site. We also need a plumber and electrician...
