The Burke town supervisor called with some questions about the permits and property. He asked if we were building near the spring that fed Pete's Pond. I explained it was farther on the interior of the property. He also asked about the water plan and I explained to him that it was on file and approved, as of last January, by the state. I also added we were working with Efficiency Vermont to make sure the house was "green". With those two questions being answered he said we were approved for the construction permit. An official "P" sign would be on our property within the next 15 days! Whoo-hooooo!

This week we mailed the completed building permit paperwork to the town clerk. Fingers crossed that all of the paperwork will be approved. I did call the town clerk and review the paperwork with her before sending it in for approval. We will have one year, from the time it is approved, to complete the building process. With working with Efficiency Vermont, we should have the Vermont residential energy code covered.
